Mr. and Mrs. Truman McClain of Blackshear would like to announce the marriage of their daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” McClain, to Brandon E. Burton, a native of Wake Forest, N.C.
The wedding was held at the Cavender Creek Vineyards in Dahlonega. A backdrop of large, archshaped intertwined grapevines stood at the end of a grassy path located between guest seating. Large floral arrangements of feathery pampas grass on top of two large barrels flanked each side of the grapevine arch.
The couple chose a lovely instrumental by Philip Bowen, “Something in the Orange,” for their processional. The bride’s father escorted her down the grassy path to the arch-shaped grapevines.
After they were announced as Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Burton, “It Just Comes Natural” by George Strait, was played as they walked down the hill to the reception venue. All music was supplied by Black Tie Events.
Bride’s dress
From the Wilderly Collection, the wedding dress was designed with intricate embroidered lace overlaying pale ivory with a square neckline and back. The bodice through the hips fit snugly and then continued into a slight flare.
The dress featured a cathedral length train covered in Alencon lace, and sheer tulle wings flowed from each shoulder along with several short tassels made of pearls dangling over each shoulder.
Bride’s headpiece
The bride chose a simple, tulle headpiece, which complemented her auburn hair, which was styled by her friend and professional stylist, Catelyn Todack. The bride’s lovely face was framed by a few tendrils and long loose curls, which continued in a half-up, half-down style with long, loose curls cascading down her back.
Bride’s bouquet
Lovely, the bride’s bouquet was made of roses in soft muted ivory, gold and dusty rose shades along with accents of lily-of-thevalley and eucalyptus.
Maid of Honor and dress
Miss Caroline McClain, the bride’s sister and maid of honor, wore an exquisite copper dress of silk charmeuse that complemented her beautiful brown eyes, long flowing brunette hair, and honeygold skin.
Her bouquet
Caroline’s bouquet was a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet, made of roses in soft muted ivory, gold, and dusty rose shades along with accents of lily-of-the-valley and eucalyptus.
Best man
The groom and best man, Matt Corbishley, wore hunter green suits with white shirts, and their boutonnieres were comprised of a simple ivory rose accented by small pampas grass.
Reception
After the wedding, guests were asked to join the bride and groom for a reception at Cavender Creek Vineyards just down the hill from where the wedding ceremony took place. Guests enjoyed a wide selection of Cavender Creek’s featured wines and other beverages along with delicious hors d’oeuvres.
A buffet of prime rib, boneless Tuscan chicken breasts and roasted fingerling potatoes, along with a macaroni and cheese bar, mixed salad and steamed asparagus was provided as each guest was assigned to a beautiful table covered in white linen.
After dinner, words of love and memories were shared with the couple by Matt Corbishley, best man; Caroline McClain, maid of honor; and Donna McClain, the bride’s mother.
Black Tie Events provided a selection of music from the 2000 era chosen by the bride and groom, and guests enjoyed dancing the evening away.
The bride changed into a sleeveless, short white dress covered in several rows of long fringe and tall white boots.
Guests also enjoyed a photo booth with props, which provided one set of photos for the bride and groom to post along with a personalized note in a keepsake album, and another set for the guests to keep.
Prior to parting and as a thank you for attendance, each guest was invited to take home small cream cheese pound cakes baked by the bride’s mother. Some of these were enjoyed by guests before they left the venue.
Each circular table was covered in white linen along with ivory dinner plates placed on clear beaded charger plates complimented by single knot olive green linen napkins. A beautiful centerpiece of muted ivory, dusty rose, and golden roses accented with baby’s breath and eucalyptus adorned each table along with small, golden votive candles.
The bride and groom sat at the head table where they could enjoy a view of all their guests. All decorations and food served were provided by Events by Dezine.
Cake
Light Italian icing covered the bride’s almond cake, which was adorned with a few simple roses in muted shades of gold, ivory, and dusty rose. The delicious cake was enjoyed by guests along with a delightful coffee bar.
Honeymoon
After spending a final night in the bridal cottage at Cavender Creek Vineyards, the couple headed to the Sandals Resort — Grande St. Lucia for a honeymoon, a generous gift from the groom’s mother.
The couple recently returned to Dahlonega after living in North Carolina near the groom’s family.
The couple and their families would like to express a special thank you to a special friend, Sarah Beth Wright (Southern Styled Weddings and Events), who provided her expertise as the official wedding planner.
