WAYNESVILLE — A 23-year-old man returned home after law enforcement searched Tuesday after a call concerning a missing person.
Devin Sweat was reported missing February 25 from his home on Friendship Drive off Browntown Road.
Sheriff Len Davis said Sweat was reported missing about 1 p.m., Tuesday. The sheriff said officers learned Sweat had left his home around 5:30 a.m., that morning following a disagreement at the Friendship Drive residence.
“We searched the area around Friendship Drive until about midnight,” Davis said. “We came back at 7 a.m. (Wednesday, February 26) and started our search efforts again.”
The search ended well when Sweat returned home around lunch Wednesday.
“That’s the ending you wish for,” said Sheriff Davis. “He was safe, that’s the best thing that could happen.”
Davis did not elaborate on Sweat’s physical condition.
