Brantley County’s Herons won five times in six outings with the lone setback coming against LaGrange in the championship match at the 31st annual Jekyll Jam.
BCHS knocked off homestanding Lowndes 41 Thursday, February 20.
The Herons opened the two-day Jekyll Jam Friday, February 21 winning 3-2 in against defending 3A state champion Columbus. Brantley County followed with a 32 victory Saturday, February 22 over Oconee County before falling 3-2 in the championship match to LaGrange.
BCHS opened Region 1A with a pair of 5-0 victorys. The Herons blanked Thomasville Tuesday, February 25 on the road and turned back Jeff Davis Thursday, February 27.
Junior varsity players Layton Myres and Yog Patel won their only matches against Thomasville and Jeff Davis. Miles Florey and Dalton Howell were 1-1.
Brantley County traveled Tuesday, March 4 to Worth County and will host Berrien Thursday, March 6 in region action this week. The Herons will play Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8 in Valdosta in the Lowndes Viking Invitational.

VALDOSTA — The Herons won two of three in singles action and swept the doubles matches for the win over Lownds.
Rohan Davis suffered the lone loss falling 6-0, 61 at No. 1 singles. Jayce Chapman needed a 10point, third-set tiebreaker to win 7-5, 1-6, 10-7 at No. 2. Patrick O’Quinn recorded a 6-1, 62 victory at No. 3.
The No. 1 doubles team of Tucker O’Quinn and Owen Spradley posted a 61, 6-1 decision with the No. 2 tandem of Jett Florey and Evan Payne rolling 6-0, 6-2.

JEKYLL ISLAND — BCHS split two 10-point, third-set tiebreakers in singles and split the doubles action in beating Columbus.
Davis dropped a 6-3, 36, 10-8 decision to Mac Dickenson at No. 1. Chapman outlasted Rishi Thiruppath 6-1, 6-7, 10-4 at No. 2. Patrick O’Quinn picked up a 6-3, 6-4 decision at No. 3 over Jaiden Shah.
The No. 1 doubles team of Tucker O’Quinn and Spradley fell 6-3, 6-4 to Aadi Shah and Hason Molvi. Florey and Payne provided the winning point posting a 6-4, 6-2 decision over William Brown and Walter Holland.

JEKYLL ISLAND — Brantley County escaped with a sweep of the doubles matches after winning just once in singles action.
Davis fell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 to Champ Blose. Chapman suffered a 6-2, 6-2 setback to Carson Smith at No. 2. Patrick O’Quinn posted a 60, 6-2 victory at No. 3 over Vance Patterson.
Tucker O’Quinn and Spradely notched a 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles over Rohan Patel and Elijah Small. The No. 2 tandem of Paye and Florey recorded a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Matthew Williams and Sogahil Dashi.

JEKYLL ISLAND — Leading 2-1 through the singles action, La-Grange split a pair of 10-point, third-set tiebreakers in the doubles matches to get the win.
Davis lost 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 to Ethan Black. Chapman dropped a 75, 6-3 decision at No. 2 to Alex Lee. Patrick O’Quinn posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Braydon Lamb at No. 3.
The No. 1 doubles team of Tucker O’Quinn and Spradley rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 11-9 victory over Noah Black and Jachem Seol. The No. 2 duo of Florey and Payne fell 6-3, 36, 10-4 to Brody Doubre and Sehun Seol.

THOMASVILLE — Brantley County overpowered the Bulldogs in straight sets dropping just 10 games.
Davis had the closest match at No. 1 singles in beating Wesley Montgomery 6-2, 6-4. Patrick O’Quinn blanked Owen Stump 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 with Jayce Chapman recording a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 over A.J. Carpio.
Tucker O’Quinn and Spradley posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles over Eli Hines and Pace Hale. Payne and Florey rolled 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 over Druket Patel and Jost Hale.

Davis needed three sets to beat Bryce Woods 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2. Patrick O’Quinn knocked off Daniel Mims 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 while Chapman notched a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 3 over Caiden Diaz.
The No. 1 doubles duo of Tucker O’Quinn and Spradley posted a 6-2, 6-0 win over Chandler Hersey and Bentley Poe. The No. 2 tandem of Payne and Florey prevailed 6-3, 6-2 against DeShaun Collins and Kenny Newton.
