Barbara Jean “Nanny” Crews, 85, of Blackshear passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, at Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta, after an extended illness.
Born in Little Rock, Arkansas her parents were Benjamin Arthur Morgan and Dorothy Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Crews ; a daughter, Arlene Pittman; two sisters, Betty Lou Frisks and Valeria Mae Grant and a brother, Benny Morgan.
She worked for Bowen’s Dairy for over 40 years and was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church. She loved riding horses and racing.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Paul Jorgensen (Melissa), Waycross; four grandchildren, Lacie Jorgensen (Alex Collins), Waycross, Tracy Jorgensen, Blackshear, Ashley Tanner (Bobby), Hoboken and Victoria Nasworth (Jimmy Buchanan), Waycross; nine great-grandchildren, Kyler, Kaleb, Kylie, Kolden, Kolby, Casey, Kade, Logan and Kolton; a brother, J.P. Morgan of AK and also several other relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
