Pierce County’s basketball programs each had one First Team, one Second Team and three total honorable mention all-Region selections in voting by coaches.
The Lady Bears, who finished fourth in the region, were represented on the First Team by leading scorer Claire Murray. Caren Drew was selected to the Second Team. Madi McGatha was tabbed honorable mention.
Appling County’s Kaniyah White earned Player of the Year honors. Cook’s Faithe Morrison was named Offensive Player of the Year with Tattnall County’s Rihanna Bess the Defensive Player of the Year.
Region champion Tattnall County had three players named First Team, one Second Team and two honorable mention selections to lead the way. Region runner-up Appling County also had six selections. Crisp County, who finished last, had four while Cook, which finished third, had three selections tying PCHS.
Leading scorer Joe Drew was the Bears’ First Team honoree. Gabe Varnadore was a Second Team selection with Brandon Williams and Marshon Stanford honorable mention selections.
Crisp County’s Zakariyya Dwight earned Player of the Year laurels. Tattnall County’s Justin McMillan and Cameron Davis were the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.
Region champion Tattnall County topped the charts with six selections. Runner-up Crisp County had five selected. Fourth-place Appling County and fifth-place Cook had four selections each joining PCHS.
