Students from the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Tifton recently visited the Rocky D Farm in Appling County for a hands on ag in the classroom experience. Students assisted in planting pecan and chestnut trees on the farm. The farm is owned by Susie Deal and the late Jimmie Deal. Jimmie Deal was a 1962 graduate of ABAC. His son, Dr. Kennon Deal, is an associate professor of chemistry at the school.
