Blackshear Rotary Club hosted STAR Student Walker Sergent and his STAR teacher, Brandon Carlson, at last week’s meeting. Sergent is the son of David and Celeste Sergent. His mother and PCHS Principal Kelly Murray also attended the Club meeting. Carlson taught Walker in seventh grade math. After graduation, Sergent intends to major in biology as a premed student at either UGA or Ole Miss. Walker is a member of FCA and the Math Team at PCHS. He also competes with the swim team and accompanied his teammates to the state swim meet at Georgia Tech a few weeks ago. Carlson and Murray both commended Sergent for not only his athletic accomplishments but also his character, discipline and work ethic.
