Brantley County senior Joshua Strickland has been named STAR (Student-Teacher Achievement Recognition) Student. Strickland, the son of Tamara Strickland, scored 1,360 on the SAT, the highest among the 2025 graduating class. He plans to attend Valdosta State University to major in Computer Science with a minor in Music Theory. Strickland chose Band Director Noah Jackson as his STAR Teacher. The STAR program honors Georgia’s highest-achieving high school seniors and the teachers most instrumental in their academic development.
