John Joseph Nuebel

BRUNSWICK — John Joseph Nuebel, 72 of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday morning, February 12, 2025 at Orange Park Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla., after an extended illness.

Born in Waterloo, Iowa his parents were Leonard Joseph Nuebel and Mary Loretta Cobb Nuebel. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Colleen Mari Wiley.

of the Catholic faith. He loved antique cars and owned his own antique truck. Nuebel enjoyed going to car shows and entering his truck and won many trophies for his truck.

Survivors include his wife, Rena Nuebel of Brunswick; a stepson, Michael Lemmond (Fiancé, Adrienne Purvis) of Brunswick; a step daughter, Nancy Shawn Smith of Brunswick; three grandchildren, Charlee Rena Smith, Kobe Fuller and Nova Grace Lemmond; three brothers and a sister- in-law, Mick Nuebel, Paul Nuebel and Jim Nuebel (Esther), all of Florida; two twin nephews, Sammy Nuebel and Eli Nuebel both of Florida; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service was held Monday afternoon, March 3, 2025 at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
