WAYCROSS – Debra L. Guy “Debbie” Sasser, 68 of Waycross, died Sunday morning, February 23, 2025 at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after a brief illness.
Mrs. Sasser was born in Waycross to the late LeRoy Guy and Macy Eaddy Guy. She made Waycross her home for all of her life. Mrs. Sasser worked as a bookkeeper and in human resources for Composite Research in Blackshear.
She was a Jesus loving, bible reading woman

that was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Sasser was baptized at 13 years old in Calvary.
Mrs. Sasser took pride in being a mother, watching Alabama football and cheering on Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Her day trips with her sisters and spontaneous beach trips with her family brought her lots of joy in life.
She is survived by three children, Joseph Sasser and wife Heather of Clanton, Ala., Crystal Dean (Christopher) of Brantley County, Melissa Carson of Waycross; five grandchildren, Jordan Strickland and wife Charity, LeeAnna Powell, Kaleb Carson (Staci), Cheyenne Murphy and husband Mitchell; six great grandchildren, Makenzie Hay, Cayden Strickland, Kenlyn Crews, Evie Strickland, Harper Crews and Brayden Carson; her mother, Macy Guy of Waycross; three siblings, Benjamin “Tommy” Guy and wife Patty, Donna Hendrix and husband Alex, Janice Cribbs and husband Darryl; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held today (Wednesday, February 26, 2025) at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
