• Possession of methamphetimine, possession of schedule 2 drug fentanyl, pedestrian in roadway: A Waycross man was arrested on drug charges after being found with methamphetimine and fentanyl while walking in Augusta Avenue near Jackson Street in Waycross.

Robert Earl Wellington, Jr., 55, of the 1400 block of Hilliard Avenue, was charged with possession of methamphetimine, possession of schedule 2 drug fentanyl and a pedestrian in a roadway February 1.

About 1:45 p.m., Patrol Deputy Zackary Lytle observed a man walking in Augusta Avenue near Jackson Street carrying on his head a plastic container that appeared to be full of items. Lytle recognized the subject as Wellington.

After approaching Wellington, Lytle noticed a plastic bag that contained a crystal-like substance in an open jacket picked. The deputy asked Wellington if he had anything illegal on his person.

The substance in the bag field tested for meth and fentanyl. Lytle placed Wellington in wrist restraints and obtained warrants for the charges.

The tote was full of expired food items.

• Prescription drug theft: Deputy Lytle responded to the 3200 block of Osbourne Road for a report of a theft.

The victim stated he was missing medication from a mail shipment. He said he checked his mailbox and noticed some of the medication was missing.

• Utility trailer theft: Patrol Deputy Andy Bryan responded by phone call at 7:45 p.m. February 2 to a report of a theft at an address on Leland Bennett Road between 3 p.m. January 28 and 5 p.m. February 2.

Reported stolen was a black, 5x10 utility trailer with a gate. The complainant said they had visited the property earlier that day and discovered the trailer missing. A possible entry point onto the property was discovered.

Det. Dakota York was assigned to follow up.

• Theft by taking: Patrol Deputies Luis Moran and Matthew Johnson responded to the 200 block of Frontier Drive about 1:33 p.m. February 3 for a report of a vehicle theft.

Reported stolen was a white, Ford Expedition. The complainant said when he returned hom efrom work on February 2 the vehicle was in his driveway. When he looked the following morning, it was missing.

A Be on the Lookout advisory was issued for the vehicle. Det. Antony Phillips was assigned to follow up.

Entering auto: Patrol Cpl. Jacob Carter responded to the 4900 block of Pineland Drive the morning of February 5 for a report of a vehicle being entered and property inside missing.

Entered was a silver, Ford F-150 pickup truck and missing was a 380 Colt Mustang XSP handgun. Carter went to a business on North Nichols Street and spoke to the victim who stated someone entered the truck and took the pistol, which was last seen in the truck February 3.

There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle. Phillips was assigned to follow up.
