Special to the WJH Satilla Advocacy Services held the second annual SAS Super Bowl on Saturday, February 1 at The Alley in Waycross.

The bowling tournament, presented by Memorial Satilla Health, honors First Responders, our local super heroes.

First responder and community partner teams came together to raise funds for Satilla Advocacy Services (SAS), a local 501c3 child advocacy and sexual assault center, and to enjoy friendly competition among agencies.

The event raised more than $18,000 to support direct victim services in our community and further the mission of Satilla Advocacy Services to assist children and adult survivors of sexual abuse, physical abuse, sexual assault, human trafficking, neglect, witnesses to violence and drug endangerment.

Prevention education is also a large component of the agency, providing ageappropriate, evidence based curriculum for children and adults, free of charge.

For more information regarding services or classes, call (912) 2857355.

Sarah Lewis (back, l-r), Carol Williford, Karan Lott and (front) Maggie Santana greet guests and spectators outside The Alley on Saturday, February 1.
(L-r) William Thomas, Freddie Henderson, Ralph Pitman and Ethan Murray represented Ware County School Police.
