Letter to Editor

Complaints and concerns about road fall on deaf ears

Editor, The Times: I have contacted everyone I can think of about getting our road, Red Oak Loop in Blackshear, fixed. Nothing is ever done and no one ever calls back.

The road is so bad, I had to get induced when I was pregnant because I was worried about having my baby and not being able to get out that road.

What are we going to do if we have an emergency out there? You can barely go two miles per hour on that road because it is so bad. A ride down Red Oak Loop throws anyone in the car back and forth and sideways.

Even school bus drivers and my neighbors have complained about it.

It’s also messing our vehicles up and making us get stuck when it rains.

I’ve reached out to county officials and the road department about the road but I never receive a response. No one will call me back.

Alica Thornton, Blackshear
