Robert Dale “Rob” Tomlinson, 60, of Hoboken, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, July 29, 2023, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Born in Fort Meade, MD June 29, 1963, he grew up in Palatka, FL but had lived in Hoboken for the past 20 years. He had been a mechanic most of his adult life and for the last six months had owned and operated his own business, The Engine Doctor. Work was his hobby but he also enjoyed fishing, watching Georgia Bulldog football, being with family and friends and spoiling his grandchildren. He was a simple man who liked the little things in life. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was a son of the late Pauline Nadine Kilgore Tomlinson. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, David Earl Sapp.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Cindy Sapp Tomlinson, Hoboken; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Paul “Rob” and Ashley Tomlinson, Kingsland and Brett and Bethany Morgan, Waycross; two daughters, Erica Tomlinson, Mooreville, NC and Amanda Tomlinson, Statesville, NC; his father and step-mother, Wallace and Norma Tomlinson, East Palatka, FL; three brothers, Cecil Wallace (Beverly) Tomlinson Jr., Bushnell, FL, Lee (Tina) Tomlinson, Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Michael (Danette) Tomlinson, Interlachen, FL; a brother-in-law, Terry Sapp and his daughter, Crystal (Andy) Winn, Hoboken; his mother-in-law, Brenda Sapp, Hoboken; five grandchildren, Tanner Tomlinson, Brenleigh Morgan, Abigail Shepherd, Raegan Faegan and Kaleb Faegan and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 3, from the Hoboken Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Sapp, Ank Jordan, Brandon Ramey, Devin Shipes, Eric Westmoreland and Tyler Jones.
