The Waycross High School Class of 1958 recently donated $577 to the Okefenokee Alliance for the Homeless. Class members making the presentation of the funds to Ken Taft, OATH Chairman of the Board of Directors, were Class Director Beth McClelland (right), (l-r) Emily Aguirre, Martha Frier and Nickie Carter. “We have leftover money from our ’58 treasury and wanted to help this great organization which definitely helps others,” McClelland said. Taft thanked the women for their “generous gift” and invited them to attend OATH’s fund raising luncheon “Hearts for the Homeless” at noon Friday, February 28 at the C.C. McCray City Auditorium, 865 Pendleton Avenue. “We always welcome donations of food and monies and appreciate them and our special volunteers,” Taft said.
