Seven Ware County High School students earned first place awards last month in the Future Business Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Region 2 Leadership Conference.

The winners were among 45 students who competed, securing Top 10 finishes in 31 events at the January 28 competition.

Winning their respective categories were: Juan Manabat (Client Service); Carlie White (Electronic Career Portfolio); Summer Howard (Help Desk); Angeles Galvan (Intro to Business Procedures); Valyn Hathaway & Santiago Cochon (Intro to Event Planning); and Dallas Benefield (Public Speaking).

In addition to the winners, the team had eight runner-up finishes and a host of others multiple top-fives. A total of 15 students in 21 events qualified for the state competition next month in Atlanta.

Additional winners were:

Second place: Tessa Dial (Intro to Social Media Strategies); Kevin Lin (Accounting 1); Jharyn Bess, Anilah Boyd, & Rakiah Thomas (Digital Video Production); Joy Lin (Future Business Leader); Parth Patel (Intro to Financial Math); Micah Robbins (Public Service Announcement); Santiago Cochon, Joy Lin & Juan Manabat (Sales Presentation); Piper Hay (Sports and Entertainment Management).

Third place: Karlee Carter & Valyn Hathaway (Intro to Business Presentation); Parth Patel (Intro to Information Technology); Landon Lingenfelter & Owen Hopkins (Sports and Entertainment Management).

Fourth place: Ashley Bullock (Intro to Information Technology); Tessa Dial (Intro to Public Speaking); Thimothy Bullock, Nazz Hernandez & Michael Lyons (Network Design).

Fifth place: Christian Davis (Business Communication); Michael Lyons (Business Management); Paula Gomez (Help Desk); Paula Gomez (Marketing).

Sixth place: Tessa Dial (Intro to Business Procedures).

Seventh place:

Madison McLendon (Accounting 1).

Eighth place: Ashley Bullock (Intro to Business Procedures); Vedika Desai (Personal Finance).

Ninth place: Carlie White (Business Communication); Kevin Lin (Financial Math).

Tenth place: Micah Robbins (Business Communication).
