Unison Behavioral Health has had a change at the top of its finance department with the retirement of one person and the hiring of her successor.

Katrina Wheeler ended a 35-year career in finance in December with her retirement following 11 years as Chief Financial Officer with Unison. She is replaced by Lauren Sweat, who has more than a decade of expertise in accounting, auditing, and financial management.

“Katrina has been an impactful leader consistently guiding Unison toward sound financial decisions and strategic growth,” said Tiffany Henderson, Chief Executive Officer of Unison. “Her expertise, dedication, and passion for Unison’s longterm success have left an ind elible mark on our org anization.

“We are deeply grateful for her contributions and wish her all the best in her welldeserved retirement.”

Wheeler joined Unison in 2013 and has played an integral role in the organization’s financial strategy, management, and growth, Henderson said. Under her guidance, Unison successfully navigated significant organizational milestones, including the expansion of services and enhancement of operational efficiency.

Sweat, a Certified Public Accountant, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to her new role, Henderson said. She holds Bachelor’s Degrees in business administration from both Valdosta State University and Georgia Southwestern State University.

The new CFO began her career in public accounting with BYRT CPAs, LLC, in 2012, where she became a partner in 2018, assuming the role of partner in charge of audits and accounting services for a diverse portfolio of clients.

In her new role, Sweat serves on Unison’s Senior Management Team while overseeing the agency’s financial strategies and ensuring fiscal responsibility to supporting the organization’s health service mission.
