Steven Thomas Tippins

Steven Thomas Tippins, age 65, of Bristol, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 1, 2023, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, following a short illness.

Born August 31, 1957, in Blackshear, he was a son of the late William Charles “WC” “Dub” and Nina Ruth Dixon Tippins. He lived all his life in Pierce County and was a 1974 graduate of Blackshear High School. He had worked as an EMT for a short time and was a longtime self-employed construction contractor.

He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dick Fulton.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Tippins, Bristol; four children, Josh Tippins, Blackshear, John Tippins, Atlanta, Van Crews (wife Casey), Blackshear and Reva Turner (husband Jeff), Patterson; eight grandchildren, Oakley Crews, Radien Crews, Naomi Clemens, Jude Crews, Alissa Turner, Asher Turner, Marie Turner and Micah Crews; sister, Glenda Belcher (husband Odell), Odum; three brothers, Jerry Tippins (wife Kathy), Baxley, Tim Tippins, Blackshear, and Mitch Mitchell (wife Brandi), Jacksonville, FL; mother-in-law, Vicki Sanberg (husband Jerry) of Florida, two sisters-in-law Tammy Hendrix (husband Robby), Waycross and Rhonda Fulton of Florida; brother-in-law, Pete Fulton of Florida; two aunts, Molly Strickland, Bristol and JoAnn Tippins, Blackshear; uncle, Johnny Dixon, Waycross and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 7, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
