HORTENSE — Two of the three drivers involved in a crash Wednesday on Hwy. 32 were transported to hospitals.
The 2:15 p.m., accident happened on Hwy. 32 at its intersection with Cumberland Road, shutting down traffic until 6:30 p.m.
Breyana Bennett, 18 of Darien, was driving east in a 2000 Honda Accord. Tiffany Propes, 36 of Hortense, was also heading east in a 2013 Ford Explorer.

Roy Merritt, 67 of Broxton, was traveling west in a 2019 freight liner.
According to the report of Georgia State Patrol Trooper Christopher Rigby, Propes had stopped and was yielding to traffic on Georgia 32 waiting to turn left onto Sawgrass Road.
Bennett was trailing and following to closely. She swerved left striking the rear driver side bumper of Propes’ vehicle with the front passenger side bumper of the Honda Accord.
The Bennett vehicle, which rotated counter clockwise, was struck by the freightliner driven by Merritt on the driver’s side rear quarter panel with its front. The Honda Accord rotated counter clockwise a complete 360 degrees. It came to a final uncontrolled stop in the center of the roadway facing west.
Merritt’s freightliner continued traveling west running off the south shoulder of Georgia 32. It struck several trees with its front coming to a final uncontrolled rest pointing southwest.
Bennett was transported to Southeast Georgia Health Center in Brunswick with injuries. Merritt was transported to Satilla Memorial Health in Waycross for treatment of his injuries. Propes did not require treatment.
