PCHS swimmers finish in top 20 at state

ATLANTA — Pierce County High School’s swim team recorded three top 20 finishes here at the Class AA state championship meet held on the Georgia Tech campus at the Aquatic Center.

Sam Chesser recorded a 15th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a personal-best time of 1:04.62. He also posted a time of 23.41 seconds in the 50 freestyle to place 19th.

Chesser qualified for the finals with a then personal-best time of 1:05.03 in the breaststroke event and a personal-best time of 23.37 seconds in the freestyle event.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Walker Sergent, Rowan McCrea, Donald Moser and Chesser placed 17th with time of 1:38.4.

The relay team set a season-best time of 1:37.7 in the preliminary round.
