Blackshear Assistant Fire Chief Leon Davis was posthumously recognized for heroism by the Altamaha Chapter Sons of the American Revolution. The SAR recognized Davis’ family at their quarterly meeting in Jesup last week. Davis died in the line-of-duty during Hurricane Helene last September. Kevin Davis, son of the late Assistant Chief Leon Davis, is shown receiving the certificate and medal from Altamaha SAR President Franklin Rozier Jr.
