Coleman Reed Hewett, 22, of Screven, formerly of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday morning, February 5, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Brunswick, August 13, 2002, he lived in Pierce County most of his life before moving to Screven seven months ago. He was a member of the PCHS Class of 2021 and was currently working in landscaping. He had occasionally worked with his dad at Interior Pros. He was very smart and knowledgeable especially when it came to antiques and history. He enjoyed collecting antique bottles and jewelry and listening to podcasts about history and religion. He loved his little brother, Tucker, and his rescue goldendoodle, Oakley. Playing golf, fishing, hunting and keeping the cleanest truck you ever saw were also some of his favorite things to do.
Survivors include his mom, Gala Boatright Hewett, Waycross; his dad and step-mom, Jim and Shelia Hewett, Blackshear; his brother, Tucker Hewett, Waycross; his girlfriend, McKayla Phillips, Screven; his maternal grandmother, Bernice White, Waycross; his paternal grandparents, Frances McFadyen, Blackshear and Randy (Nancy) Hewett, Waycross; his aunts and uncles, Tammy (Matt) White, Blackshear, Dana Hewett, St. Augustine, FL, Donnie (Brandi) White, Waycross, Brooks Hewett, Waycross and Brandon (Laci) Hewett, Brunswick; nieces and nephews, Brandon Bennett (Taylor Roundtree), Cody Taylor (Bailey Hendrix), Hayden Royal, Walker (Taylor) White, Macy (Cody) Davis, Macie White (Lane Carnes), Gage White, Emmie Theriault, Trey (Keller) Lightsey, Izzy Hewett, Addi Hewett and Reese Hewett; special friends, Daniel Hunter, Ethan Hunter, Brody Boyles all of Screven and Dagan McDonald of Blackshear and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:30-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel with Pastor Joey Chancey officiating.
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Daniel Hunter, Brandon Bennett, Cody Taylor, Gage White, Ramsey Hurst, and Brody Boyles.
