Editor, The Times:
I recently received my property tax assessment and would have laughed out loud if it wasn’t so ridiculous. I don’t know who the county hired to do the property tax assessments, but they need to be redone. My property, in the city, was assessed at almost $100,000 higher than any property has sold near me in the last few months. The reassessment means that my 2023 property taxes will be almost DOUBLE what they were in 2022. Assessed valued need to be reset to the 2022 values and the county needs to hire an assessor that knows what they’re doing.
