Gaines Chapel has Black History event Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church, 805 S. Georgia Pkwy. E., will celebrate Black History at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 16.
The congregation, community members and those of “The Divine 9” will participate. Refreshments will be served following the program.

City Wide Revival held Thurs. to Sat.
The City Wide Revival will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday-Saturday, February 6-8 at two locations in Waycross.
HJE Memorial Tabernacle, 1120 H.J. Echols Drive will be the site Thursday and Friday, and Refreshing Spring Church of God in Christ, 517 Mary Street, will host the program Saturday. Worship starts at 7 p.m. each day.
Speakers will be Apostle Carlos White, Pastor Jimmy Walker and Bishop Steve Bulloch in order Thursday-Saturday. The revival is hosted by Missionary Kalista Flynn-Carter.
Way of Cross EPC has food giveaway Way of the Cross EPC holds a free food and clothing giveaway at 8 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at 512 Lee Avenue.
People should bring a bag or box for items. The first-come, first-served giveaway will next be held March 1.

DC Downtown has food ministry DC Downtown Food Ministry offers food items from a 5,000-square foot warehouse at 201 Jenkins Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The ministry serves people from more than a dozen counties in southeast Georgia and north Florida.
Higher Heights has food ministry The food ministry of Higher Heights True Word of God offers items from 9 to 11 a.m., the first Thursday of each month at 979 Tebeau Street.
