April Nowell, patient care technician, was recently honored with the Sunflower Award for extraordinary team members.

The award is part of Memorial Satilla’s efforts to recognize nonnurse team members who deliver compassionate care and remarkable patient experience every day. It’s presented quarterly. The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is also awarded on a quarterly basis.

“When I first arrived at the hospital, I was scared and confused, but April came in and instantly made a great impression,” said a former patient. “She had this calming presence and was always smiling. She is very caring, always shows compassion.”

Nowell lives in Blackshear. She has been a team member at Memorial Satilla for six years.

Anyone can nominate one of Memorial Satilla’s staff members for the Sunflower Award. To learn more or to nominate someone, visit http://gs111ed.co/3DwYz 52
