WAYCROSS — Pamela Jean Yawn Collins, 58, of Waycross died Thursday morning, January 23, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., after an extended illness.
She was born in Alma to the late Early “Bo” Yawn, Sr. and Juanita Evelyn Cothern Yawn. Ms. Collins was a 1984 graduate of Bacon County High School and lived in Wayc ross most of her life.
She was a dedicated family woman, cherishing her children, grandchildren, and extended family members she selflessly raised. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.
As the owner of Edds Package Store in Waycross, Ms. Collins was a respected business leader and a familiar face to many in the community. Her kindness, generosity, and warm smile earned her countless friends and loyal customers. Ms. Collins’ impact on her family and community will be felt for generations to come. Her memory will be cherished by her loved ones, who will remember her unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-inlaw, Lawton and Brooke Sweat of Waycross and Alex and Lacie Collins of Waycross; seven grandchildren, Slade, Hayes, Remy, Kyler, Kaleb, Kylie and Kolden; extended children she raised, Nikki Studstill, Shawn Howell, Haley Howell and Robyn Rowell (Greg), and their children who were considered grandchildren, Emma, Annabelle, Ava, KK, Easton, Oakley, Jaxon and Cassie; one sister, Gwen Griffin of Waycross; one brother, Early “Bo Bo” Yawn, Jr. of Texas; a cousin who is like a sister, Sandy Sweat of Waycross and her son, Skylar and Marah Sweat and their children, Hazel, Hardy and Hylan; as well as extended family and a host of friends.
A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Ms. Collins’ life and legacy. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity, honoring Ms. Collins’ compassionate spirit and commitment to giving back.
