Charlie Giving Back has food giveaway Charlie Giving Back community outreach has rescheduled its food giveaway from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, February 1 at E.E. Moore Park.
Last Saturday’s planned distribution was cancelled because of the weather.
The first 300 will be served. Recipients need to bring boxes to carry away the items.
Southside Baptist has anniversary Southside Baptist Church, 3439 Knight Avenue, celebrates its 48th anniversary with Homecoming at 10:45 a.m., Sunday, February 2.
Special guests will be founding pastor Marien Mullis and his wife, Zee. A fellowship meal will be served following the special worship service.

Gaines Chapel has Black History event Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church, 805 S. Georgia Pkwy. E., will celebrate Black History at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 16.
The congregation, community members and those of “The Divine 9” will participate. Refreshments will be served following the program.
River of Life starts resource program River of Life Church, 1439 Brunel Street, offers a community resource center from 10 a.m. to noon, the fourth Friday of each month.
The program will offer practical life skills, hot meals, clothing and more. Next session is February 28.
