Family placed obituary Homer Craig Walker

Homer Craig Walker, 68, of Patterson, passed away early Saturday morning, January 25, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Born in Waycross September 29, 1956, he had lived all of his life in Pierce County. A 1974 graduate of Blackshear High School, she had worked for many years as a male attendant at the Pierce County Hospital until its closure, and then at Memorial Hospital, now Memorial Satilla Health, in Waycross. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to any and everybody. He was a huge fan of the Pierce County Bears and never missed an opportunity to attend or listen to the games on the radio. He was of the Christian faith, having attended Emmanuel Baptist Church while growing up.

He was a son of the late Herman Colquitt and Mary Fosteen Mincey Walker. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Rickey L. Walker and a sister, Mary Virginia Vickers.

Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Deborah Walker, St. Simons Island and Andy and Delores Walker, St. Cloud, FL and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, January 30, at the funeral home.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel..

Memorialization will be by cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pierce County Food Bank, 713 Hendry Street, Blacksher, GA, 31516 or to The Sycamore Tree, 204 Central Avenue West, Blackshear, GA, 31516.
