Strickland
Betty Renee Kibby Strickland, 63, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday aftern oon, January 26, 2025, at her residence following an extended illness.
Born April 15, 1961, in Big Spring, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Sidney Manuel Kibby and Emma Sue “Peggy” McNew Threatt. She grew up in Fort Worth, TX and lived in Pascagoula, Mississippi before moving to Pierce County in 1998. She had worked for many years as a clerk/cashier for Circle K, Dollar General, Dollar Tree and Subway.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Talan Tanner; a great-granddaughter, Heaven Long; a brother, Freddy Kibby and a sister, Rachel Kibby.
Survivors include her husband, Steven McCoy Strickland, Blackshear; five children, Lee Long (Veronica) of Louisiana, Philip Long (Jessica), Blackshear, Michael Tanner (Jessica), Nahunta, Bobby Tanner (Ashley), Hoboken, and Lisa Johnson (Branden) of Michigan; 11 grandchildren, Dakota Long (Mack), Trae Long, Angel Long, Hayleigh Cason (Hayden), Brylie Tanner, Logan Tanner, Jackson “J-Paul” Long, Harmonee Long and Heather, Asha, and Alisha; two great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Paxton; bonus grandchild, Donny Ragland, Hoboken; mother-inlaw, Alice Strickland, Blackshear; father-inlaw, McCoy Strickland, Blackshear; sisters, Levita Porter, Pascagoula, MS, Sharon Neal of Texas and Heather Irene Kibby of Mississippi; two brothers, Gary Kibby (Shelly) and Wayne Evans (Cindy), both of Pascagoula, MS and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
