Miracle League’ spring baseball and cheerleading sign-ups open ‘til Feb. 13

On-line registration for the Miracle League’s spring baseball and cheerleading is now open until February 13. The registration fee has been reduced to $20.

The Miracle League of the Okefenokee has a structured baseball and cheerleading program for individuals ages 5 and up, with physical or mental disabilities that would otherwise not be able to participate in traditional programs.

Some important facts about Miracle League games:

•Games will be held on Friday evenings, beginning on Friday, March 21, with the exception of our last Spring season game on Thursday, May 15.

•New The first game will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by games 2 and 3.

•The Spring Banquet will be announced later in the season.

•Games are played in the spring and in the fall.

•We have 6 teams and play 3 games.

•Each game is 2 innings; each player gets to bat twice.

•All players are safe on the bases.

•Every player scores a run before the inning is over.

•Each team and each player win every game.

•Community volunteers serve as ‘buddies’ to assist players.

•Cheerleaders report to field at 6 p.m. for practice and will perform in-between the first and second game.

•Games are played at the Field of Dreams located at the Trembling Earth Sports Complex in Waycross.

•Players receive a jersey and cap and cheerleaders receive a shirt and bow.

▪ Important: Jerseys are only guaranteed for those participants that register by February 13. This is due to the time constraints of the jersey provider.
