WAYCROSS — Mr. Herbert Brown “Pete” Roberts, 96, died Tuesday morning January 14, 2025 at Hospice House Satilla after an extended illness.
Roberts was born January 22, 1928 in Blackshear to the late Allen Brown Roberts and Mary Etta Cox Roberts. He graduated from Pierce County High School in 1949.
Roberts served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He formerly owned and operated the Central Depot.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Wilson Roberts; grandson, Austin Roberts; and his siblings, William Roberts (Idell), Otto Roberts, Tom Roberts, Sr. (Mary), Nova Hill (Charlie), Lucille Music (Dessie), Georgia Roberson (Willie), Thelma Bennett (Clifford), Sylvia Roberts, Hubert “Sambo” Roberts (Billie Jean) and Allen Roberts.
Survivors include two sons, Robbie Roberts (wife Jimmie Rae) and Mickey Roberts, both of Blackshear; his daughter, Brandy Stacy (husband the Rev. Matt) of Toccoa, Ga.; grandchildren, Justin Roberts (Jamie), Raymond Roberts, Drew Thigpen, Cameranne Roberts, Jackson Stacy, Elli Stacy and Wilson Stacy; great grandchildren, Mia Roberts, Liza Rae Roberts, Leila Ruth Roberts, Madyson Roberts and Brody Austin Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Thursday, January 16 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
