Special to the WJH The Waycross Library was presented a $5,000 check from Satilla REMC Foundation on January 13.
The Foundation is funded by Satilla REMC members 'rounding up' their monthly electric bills to the next even dollar.
The Foundation has approximately 15,000 contributors, and they donate around $90,000 annually.
“Appling, Bacon, and Ware counties have been receiving this for at least the past 4-5 years, said Library Director Erica Stembridge. “We do not have it earmarked for anything yet. My plan is to use it for new programming, but no final decisions have been made yet.”
The Waycross Library is located at 401 Lee Avenue.
