Special to the WJH Ware County’s University of Georgia Extension Office will offer free tax preparation for the 2024 season.
Tax prep will be conducted as part of the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Volunteers from the community and Coastal Pines Technical College will work with UGA Family and Consumer Sciences County Agent, Tabitha Kirkendall, to provide the tax prep service at the extension office, 3225 Harris Road.
VITA is a program that allows people to have taxes prepared and filed for free. Volunteers are certified by the IRS and must pass annual exams to prepare tax returns, and all tax returns go through a quality review process before being submitted to the IRS.
