HOBOKEN — Joan Johns Crews, 78 of Hoboken, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Bayview Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Crews was born in Screven to the late Carlys Everett Johns and Sarah Leona Chesser Johns. She lived in Hoboken most of her life.
Mrs. Crews taught at Okefenokee Technical School for many years. She was a longtime faithful member of Nahunta Church of God and always enjoyed taking care of people.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Joel R. Greene, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Burnice Crews of Hoboken; two daughters, Karla Cleland (Jamie) and Karen Hunnicutt (Kelly) of Hoboken; three grandchildren, Caden Morgan, Jace Hunnicutt and Feona Hunnicutt; four brothers, Curtis Johns (Connie) of Nahunta, Mikel Johns of Nahunta, Ronnie Johns (Brenda) of Hickox and Tony Johns of Nahunta; two sisters, Lucy Southers of Athens and Judy Hendrix (John) of Waycross; three nephews she raised, Mikel Ray Johns of Nahunta, Eric Johns of Macon and Dillon Johns of Hoboken; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral services was held Monday, January 20, 2025 at Nahunta Church of God with Rev. Charles Florey officiating Burial followed in Hoboken Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mikel Ray Johns, Dillon Johns, Clay Johns, Bobby Crews and Kyle Crews.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
