FRANKLIN — Brantley County finished in the top eight here at Heard County High School in the two-day, 16-team Class A dual tournament finishing with a 2-2 record.
The Herons lost the Friday, January 17 opener 47-27 to Gordon Lee, who went on to finish in the top six. BCHS bounced back to down Berrien 4833 and Dublin 53-20 in Friday’s first two rounds of the losers’ bracket.
Private school Mt. Pisgah Christian clipped the Herons 41-39 in Saturday’s quarterfinals of the consolation bracket.
Social Circle won its second straight title beating Toombs County. Bremen beat Trion in the consolation finals.
Other programs participating were McIntosh County Academy, Irwin County, host Heard County, Elbert County, Trion, Jasper County, St. Francis and Commerce.
