James Riley Carter, 42, of Blackshear, passed away Friday morning, January 17, 2025, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born September 28, 1982, in Jacksonville, FL, he was the biol ogical son of John Riley Yaun and the late Bonnie Regina Carter Findley. He grew up in Jacksonville and lived in Waynesville before moving to Pierce County in 2017.
In addition to his biological mother, he was preceded in death by his parents who raised him, James Ivey and Phanita Miller Gillette.
Survivors include his two siblings, David Carter (wife Christina), Hortense and Crystal Yaun, Starke, FL; biological father, John Riley Yaun, Mayo, FL; aunt, Joy Gray, Starke, FL; uncle, Edward Miller, Blackshear; 2 nieces, Bridgett Carter and Taylor Carter, both of Hortense and several other relatives.
