WAYCROSS — Mrs. Melinda Clare Thomas, 63, died Wednesday night, January 8, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health after an extended illness.
She was born March 9, 1961 in New York City, N.Y., to the late Mario Mendoza and Nina Jean Rogers Gorkowski. Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and member of Carter’s Chapel in Bristol.
Survivors include her husband, James M. Thomas of Waycross; brother, Bill Mendoza (wife Bogumila Laura) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service was held Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
She was laid to rest in Oakland Cemetery.
