Bagby joins extension office

Austin Bagby recently joined the Ware County Extension Office as Agricultural and Natural Resources officer, the program announced.

Originally from North Florida, Bagby brings a fresh and varied agricultural perspective to Ware County. His div erse background in agricultural sciences, combined with his passion for community engagement, positions him to make a significant impact on local farmers, landowners, and residents.

Bagby holds a Bachelor’s Degree in agricultural studies from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton. While at ABAC, he completed internships with Syngenta and Helena Agri-Enterprises.

The new officer’s interest in agriculture began early in life, growing up in a rural area on his grandfather’s dairy farm where he saw firsthand the importance of farming and sustainable land management. He also was actively involved in 4-H and his community during his youth.

Bagby earned national recognition in dairy and agriscience research as a 4-H participant. He said he’s eager to collaborate with residents and farmers to help maximize their yields while promoting environmental sustainability.

He can be reached at the Ware County extension office (912) 287 2456 or by visting extension.uga.edu/county - offices/ware.
