Four eighth-grade students in Ware County have been selected as Georgia Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen (REACH) Scholars for this year.

Alivia Siironen of Ware County Middle School is joined in the group by Wayross Middle’s Airanna Davis, Tiana Davis and AnMarie Moore-Wright.

These scholars join 25 other Ware County students currently enrolled in the prestigious scholarship program. Launched in 2012, Georgia REACH is designed to support students with demonstrated potential for success in higher education.

Each Scholar will receive a $10,000 scholarship to be applied toward tuition and expenses at a Georgia university, college, or technical school.

“This program is truly life-changing,” said Dr. Lynn Barber, Superintendent of Ware County Schools. “These students have demonstrated resilience, hard work, and a commitment to their futures. We are proud to support them as they continue on their paths toward achieving their dreams.”

As part of the program, students commit to maintaining high academic performance, meeting attendance requirements, and demonstrate good behavior as they progress through high school. Failure to meet these criteria could result in forfeiture of the scholarship.

The REACH program not only provides financial assistance but also pairs scholars with mentors and coaches to guide them on their educational journey. This support, coupled with their own determination, sets students up for success in their post-secondary studies and beyond Ware County Schools congratulates these four remarkable scholars and looks forward to celebrating their continued success!
