Patterson names Dixon as new city clerk and Stokes as Public works super

Patterson has a new city clerk and a new public works director/fire chief.

Laura Kate Dixon was named as city clerk to fill the vacancy left when Tina White stepped down effective at the end of the year.

Dixon has formerly served as assistant city clerk and public relations coordinator for Eagle Station/Patterson City Hall for the past year.

Tyler Stokes is Patterson’s new public works superintendent and fire chief.

Stokes succeeds Stevie Sweat who had to take medical retire ment. Sweat had served Patterson as public works superintendent for 11 years and served as fire chief for over two decades.

Dixon and Stokes were named to the positions during last Thursday evening’s city council meeting.

The city clerk and public works superintendent/ fire chief are among several annual appointments made by the Patterson Council at their January meeting each year.

Returning and re-appointed officers include June Bennett, municipal court clerk, water and sewer clerk, Nick Strickland, police chief, Adam Ferrell, city attorney, Hurst and Hurst, city auditor, Jim McGee, court attorney and Cale Harris of Harris and Company as city accountant.

The assistant city clerk’s position previously held by Dixon is currently vacant. The city is accepting applications for the vacancy.
