Special to The Beacon The Brantley County Retired Educators Association (BCREA) was blessed to have the Brantley County Middle School Chorus perform a miniconcert for the December meeting.

Selected from their 2024 Christmas concert, the songs were well received by the BCREA members present. Many thanks to BCMS Chorus director Heather Jacobs, as well as the administration of BCMS for allowing the students to attend, and to the students themselves for sharing their talents with us and helping to get us into the holiday mood!

BCREA members also completed one of their community service projects in December. They gathered school supplies and donated them to Brantley County Schools to be dispersed by school system personnel as needed.

While many groups and individuals donate lots of supplies at the beginning of the year, many students are struggling to come up with supplies by midschool- year. More than 600 items were collected and donated.

The BCREA will meet again Friday, January 10. ,Brunswick lawyer Debbie Britt, who will present a long-awaited and highly anticipated program about her specialty —“Elder Law” — will be the guest speaker.

All BCREA members, as well as any other interested parties, are invited to attend the meeting, which will be held at 10:30 a.m., at the Brantley County Transportation Professional Learning Room, 79 Davis St., Nahunta.

RSVP is not needed, but would be helpful. If possible, please contact Tim Sawyer if you plan to attend.

This is a presentation that “elders,” soon-to-be elders and people who have elders in their lives, won’t want to miss.
