WAYCROSS — Franklin Delmar “Frank” Leggett, 77 of Waycross, passed away at his home Tuesday, December 31, 2024 after an extended illness.
Leggett was born June 18, 1947 to the late Hubert Leslie “Fess” Leggett and Mariah Davis “Marie” Leggett in Ludowici. H e worked in shipping and receiving at Clayton Homes. Leggett was a jokester and enjoyed making people laugh.
He loved to fish and watch westerns on repeat. Above everything, Leggett loved his family and spending time with his kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Leggett was preceded in death by his infant son, Stacy Shawn; sister, Jean Bennett; three brothers-in-law, Benny Bennett, Tink Norman and Wayne Hutto; and a nephew, Kojak Hutto.
He is survived by his wife of 53-plus years, Delores Ennis Leggett of Waycross; three daughters, Melissa “Missy” Wilson (Jimmy Ray) of Blackshear, Dana Leggett of Brunswick and Stephanie Lee (David) of Hickox; a son, Derek Leggett (Biula) of Jacksonville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two greatgreat grandchildren; three sisters, Agnes Hutto, Diane Norman and Edna Leggett; and two brothers, Hank Leggett and Donald Leggett.
A funeral service was held Saturday, January 4, 2025 in the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
