BRUNSWICK — Robert Gaskin, 89 of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Southeast Georgia Health System - Brunswick Campus.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Judy Gaskin of Brunswick; and child ren, Penny Gaskin of Waynesville and Terry Gaskin of Brunswick.
Gaskin was born September 13, 1935, in Douglas, to Eddie Lee Gaskin and Ethel Ruby Bailey Gaskin. He had lived in Brunswick most of his life graduating from Glynn Academy in 1955.
Gaskin was a veteran of the United States Army, returning to Brunswick after his military duties, and began working at Hercules, Inc. until his retirement in 1987.
After retirement, Gaskin pursued his passion for fishing as a commercial fisherman. He enjoyed visiting the Woodbine Opry and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Hudson officiating.
Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery with Rusty Ferrell, Robbie Ferrell, Patrick Owens, and Peter Laymos serving as active pallbearers.
Chapman Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
