Carroll Arnold Brooker, 77, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, at his residence.
Born in Blackshear October 17, 1945, he had lived in Pierce County since 1996. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and retired from Bell South after 35 years of service. He was known as “The Rambler” and could talk for hours. He was a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather and loved the Lord. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a part of several hunting clubs. He was a good neighbor and loved to travel to new places. He was a faithful member of Ward Memorial Church.
He was a son of the late Lester L. Sr. and Clara Altman Brooker. He was also preceded in death by all his brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Joann Brooker; a daughter, Kanda (Byron) Ellis, Tifton; four sons, Rodney (Helen) Brooker, Flower Mound, TX, Russell “Rusty” (Jennifer) Brooker, Tifton, DaWayne (Brandi) King, Blackshear and Patrick King, Columbia, TN; a sister, Molly (Jimmy) Harper, Tifton; 10 grandchildren, Jacob Brooker, Lauren Brooker, Russ Brooker, Jay Brooker, Hunter (Iby) Lane, Kassi (Kayle) Bowen, Brandon (Kayla) Strickland, Trey (Samantha) Dollar, Taylor Ellis and Ethan King; four great-grandchildren, Ren Lane, Celee Bowen, Shep Bowen and Darby Dollar and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Waters Cemetery.
