Wayne Edward Walker

BLACKSHEAR — Mr. Wayne Edward Walker, 73 of Blackshear, died Tuesday evening, December 31, 2024 at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after an extended illness.

Walker was born in Wayne County to the late James L. Walker and Sadie Faye Teston Walker. He had lived most of his life in Waycross before moving to Blackshear in 2010.

Walker worked as a brick mason. He loved the beach, fishing and reading books about westerns.

Along with his parents, Walker was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Scott Walker and Shawn Edward Walker; and two brothers, James Larry Walker and Roy Earl Walker.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Walker Sapp and her husband, Christopher, of Nahunta; two grandchildren, Robert B. Johns and Regina K. Johns; two sisters, Barbara Nero and her husband, Ralph, of Orlando, Fla., Sandra Bledsoe and her husband, Marvin, of Orlando, Fla.; his close friend and neighbor, Dinah Moore of Blackshear; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
