ALMA — Ronnie Smith, 74 of Alma, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at his residence after an extended illness.
Smith was a native of Bacon County and son of the late Dewey Smith and Leola Wade Smith.
H e worked several public jobs but was most happy helping his cousin, Foster, on his farm until he became ill and was no longer able to. Smith loved to watch television with his favorites being westerns and game shows. He was happiest, though, on his lawn mower keeping his yard immaculate.
In addition to his parents, Smith was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Wendell Smith (Charlotte) and Cecil Smith.
Survivors include three sisters, Emily Chancey (Roger) of Nahunta, Marilyn Tomlinson and Wanda Wheeler (Johnny) of Alma and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Life was held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 Corinth Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Miles and Pastor Pet Hayes officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Corinth Free Will Baptist Church 181 Corinth Church Rd. Alma, Georgia 31510.
Crosby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
