Gayle Davis Chastain, 74, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Friday night, December 23, 2022, at her sister’s residence in Blackshear, following an extended illness.
Born March 1, 1948, in Orlando, FL, she was a daughter of the late William Joseph and Alice Maxine Huggins Davis. She grew up in Lakeland, FL and was a 1966 graduate of Lakeland High School. She lived most of her adult life in Spartanburg where she had retired as a paraprofessional with the school system. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald M. Chastain.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Chastain and Rhonda Chastain, both of Spartanburg, SC; two grandchildren, Spencer Chastain and Braxton Woody, both of Spartanburg, SC; a great-grandson, Zander Chastain, Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Bo Davis and Thomas Davis, both of Lakeland, FL; a sister, Melany Nichols, Blackshear and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will take place in Spartanburg, SC in the spring.
