Where is the light that guides us within?
How does the light shine amid sin?
Why does the light cast broad strokes of love in the dark places?
These questions begin and end with you and your willingness to know Jesus.
Let this phrase yield clarity for you,
“He carried you to a place of safety. Truth be told, He’ll never leave us nor forsake us. And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
— Deuteronomy 31: 8
Another truth is we’ll leave Him before He will ever leave us, as love is patient. Even as the weight of the world is on our shoulders we are pressed in on every side.
He will rescue and carry us to safety. The caveat? We must let go and let God.
Often it is amid adversity that our eyes are opened and discovery takes form. Wherever sin abounds, our vision of sight is blurred. Repentance is necessary to clear the fog.
More times than not, we don’t discuss sin or the effects of sin consciousness. Still, to this day, the wages of sin is death. The more we walk in right-standing of the Lord, the better our spiritual sight is engaged.
As His word is anchored in us, His word becomes a demarcation which resonates in our heart and creates a new facade.
“Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.”
— Psalm 37: 5
When was the last time you asked the Lord, “Where do I go and how do I get there?” In other words, do you include the Lord in your plans? He is waiting on us to include Him in our lives, so we can reach our destination. This is where guidance and obedience become a collaboration yielding a tactical (natural) response, an alert that will navigate your course and ultimately change your trajectory.
Imagine where you would have ended up if you hadn’t gleaned inspiration from the Lord. What prompts you to go left or right in any terrain is the city on the hill. Yes, the lighthouse has been in place to ensure you reach the mark.
“You are the world’s light—a city on a hill, glowing in the night for all to see.”
— Matthew 5: 14
The lighthouse is a monumental marker which stands tall, ensuring those in its vicinity are in the right place. Nothing about the lighthouse is hidden. In truth, its light is an assurance you shall never be lost.
Then there are those designated to be a lighthouse for their families, businesses, and even a nation depending on what you are called to steward. The lighthouse is man’s way of ensuring no one will be lost.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?” — Psalm 27: 1
Spiritually, the lighthouse (on the inside of us) or the city on the hill is the marker ensuring souls are not lost. Every believer has to make that choice for themselves as God is a gentleman.
The longing for salvation comes from within. I asked you today, are you lost and do you need help finding your way back home?
