SAS holds holiday Dash and Dine

Downtown Dash and Dine Celebrates Community, Honors Cindy Tanner, and benefits local advocacy services. Excited runners are ready to see who can catch the speedy Grinch. SPECIAL PHOTO

Special to the WJH The Downtown Dash and Dine returned for its third annual event honoring the memory of Cindy Tanner, a dedicated runner and passionate advocate for our community's youth.

This year’s event was a festive success, once again partnering with First Friday Waycross to bring families together for a night of fitness, fun, and community spirit, organizers said.

More than 100 runners participated in the 3K Grinch Run — where the challenge was to “Catch the Grinch if you can!” — along with a 1-mile fun run for participants of all ages. The evening featured live music, food trucks, and a joyful atmosphere that brought the downtown community to life.

All proceeds from the event benefit Satilla Advocacy Services, an organization dedicated to providing vital support for child advocacy and sexual assault resources in our region.

The success of the Downtown Dash and Dine demonstrates the power of community collaboration and celebrates the legacy of Tanner, whose love for youth and running continues to inspire all, organizers said.
