Heard
Lula Mae Heard, 94, was received into heaven Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
She was born October 3, 1930 in Blackshear to the late Lacey Heard Sr. and Mamie Dennis Heard.
She attended the New Hope School in Blackshear. She was a homemaker and devoted caretaker to her family. She loved her family and was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. She loved to cook and sew. She was of the Baptist faith.
She worked for the Larson and Clough families.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers, Howard Heard Sr. and Lacey Heard Jr. and a sister, Ruby Mincer.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Mamie (Robert) Jenkins; her son, Emmett Heard; grandchildren, Tanisha Gary and Tamila Nunn; a great-grandchild, Christian Gary; a sibling, Annette Baldwin and a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
A celebration of her life was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, from the chapel of Rainge Memorial with Elder Marie Rainge presiding and bringing words of comfort.
Interment followed in the Shiloh Cemetery, Moore Street, Blackshear.
Active pallbearers were Howard Heard Jr., Elijah Heard, Sidney Sellers, Earnest Gamble, Ashawn James and Gregory Baldwin.
Flower girls were nieces, cousins and friends.
Rainge Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Blackshear was in charge of arrangements.
